A new World Health Organization (WHO) guideline, Rehabilitation in Health Systems, provides recommendations for WHO member states and other stakeholders to strengthen and expand the availability of quality rehabilitation services.

The Network’s Executive Director, Charissa Levy, participated with a team of researchers from UofT’s Institute for Work & Health and Toronto Rehab-UHN to provide the scientific evidence for the recommendations and best practice statements.

In light of global trends in health and aging, the report recommends scaling up rehabilitation services around the world (particularly in low and middle-income countries) and ensuring they are adequately funded.
