Report on outpatient rehab supports QI efforts
Date: November 22, 2018
A Network report on access to outpatient rehabilitation is providing participating hospitals with valuable information to guide their quality improvement efforts.
The report analyzes outpatient data gathered by seven hospital sites in the Toronto Central LHIN over the past three years for patients with total joint replacement, hip fracture and stroke. Data includes admission wait times; referral and admission volumes; and rates and reasons for decline and cancellation of referrals.
In addition to informing quality improvement efforts, the work supports the Rehabilitative Care Alliance initiative on standardized performance reporting for outpatient rehabilitative care. It has also made it easier for the TC LHIN hospitals to participate in the MOHLTC’s hip and knee bundled funding pilot currently underway.
