Following a successful pilot, the GTA Rehab Network is now expanding its Non-Emergency Patient Transport (NEPT) model to new hospital partners. Originally developed to reduce rehab and CCC admission delays caused by transportation booking issues, the model enables the receiving rehab team to coordinate non-emergency transport, rather than relying on acute care teams.

Since its initial rollout, Scarborough Health Network and Michael Garron Hospital have adopted the model as standard practice, joining early adopters Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital and Providence Healthcare for bookings with Voyago Health.

Building on this momentum, the Network is currently expanding partnerships with additional east-end hospitals and preparing to launch a pilot with west-end sites. Early feedback from existing partners has shown increased admission volumes, smoother transitions, and more same-day transfers.

The Network will continue to evaluate the model’s impact as implementation continues across the region.
