On May 1, 2026, the GTA Rehab Network hosted its 25th annual Best Practices Day (BPD), bringing together clinicians, researchers, administrators, leaders, and students for a day of virtual learning and collaboration.

Under the theme Bridging Gaps, Building Futures: Advancing Rehabilitative Care Across the Continuum, the conference explored emerging issues and innovative approaches shaping rehabilitative care. The day featured keynote presentations by Dr. Jordan Miller, who spoke about integrating rehabilitation professionals into team-based primary care, and Dr. Muhammad Mamdani, who examined the potential implications of artificial intelligence for rehabilitation practice and health system planning.

Concurrent sessions and rapid podium presentations highlighted a range of topics, including technology-enabled approaches to home care, post-fall rehabilitative care pathways for older adults, care coordination for individuals with complex needs, and evidence-informed practices from across the rehabilitation sector.
The event attracted 185 registrants, primarily from Ontario, with additional participants joining from Alberta, British Columbia, Nova Scotia, and Quebec.

As the only provincial rehabilitation conference of its kind, Best Practices Day continues to support knowledge sharing, collaboration, and innovation across the rehabilitative care continuum. Thank you to all presenters, participants, and planning committee members who contributed to another successful event.
