Rehabilitation Day was held on September 16th, with recognition continuing to grow across the GTA.

In response to a request from the GTA Rehab Network, municipalities across the GTA proclaimed September 16th, 2026, as Rehabilitation Day. We’re pleased to share that the City of Toronto, Town of Newmarket, City of Richmond Hill and Town of Oakville have all formally recognized the day.

These proclamations are an exciting show of support for rehabilitative care and help shine a broader spotlight on the important role rehabilitation plays in the health and wellbeing of people and communities.

They also recognize the dedicated professionals, teams and partners who deliver rehabilitative care every day, and the people whose strength, determination and achievements are at the heart of this work.

The GTA Rehab Network extends its thanks to these municipalities for helping raise awareness and adding their voices to the growing recognition of rehabilitation.

Throughout September, share what Rehabilitation Day means to your organization, recognize the people who make rehabilitation possible, and help amplify the conversation across your networks using Rehabilitation Day tools and resources and #RehabilitationDay.
