The Network has received responses from thirteen organizations with Complex Continuing Care (CCC) programs in response to a survey exploring the volume of patients whose tracheostomy status could progress with the right supports in place. Issued late last year in response to prolonged CCC bed wait times for these patients, the survey captured valuable insights on the barriers and potential solutions to improve care for this population.

With the survey complete, the Network is now developing next steps. These will inform the creation of plans to be shared with Ontario Health regions, with the goal of supporting more timely and appropriate care for patients with tracheostomies.
